Pre-Hispanic remains have been found here in the form of caves, the remains of ancient huts and burial sites.

It is at most 3.5 million years old and at least 0.6 million years old.

The eruptive mouth is formed by two superimposed concentric craters that emitted two very viscous lava flows.

The lava flowed forming the Mesas de Guaza, and generating a small cliff carved into the coast, due to marine erosion.

This mountain was considered sacred by the aboriginal Guanches.

To get there, the most common way is to take the TF-1, taking the Los Cristianos exit, and continue down the TF-665 towards the village. After about 2.7 km, you will come to the Playa Graciosa housing development, where you can park and access the Reserve along any of the paths that lead into it.

Access can also be made from the east side of the mountain. To do so, take the Guaza-Valle San Lorenzo-Las Galletas exit and drive along the TF-6222 to the El Palm-mar junction. Continue towards El Palm-mar and once there you can park and walk to the reserve along one of its paths.
